Nach vier Tagen Arbeit habe ich den ersten und letzten retromedia.de-Blogeintrag des Jahres 2008 fertiggestellt – die Ehrung der 95 in diesem Jahr verstorbenen Zeitschriften. Ich bitte um freundliche Beachtung. Ohnehin solltet ihr retromedia.de wieder in euer Blickfeld zurückholen – im neuen Jahr wird sich dort wieder mehr tun. Mehr dazu in Kürze.

– “Children of Men”
Ich wollte den Film schon damals im Kino sehen, hab ihn dann irgendwann von Premiere aufgenommen und ihn nun bei RTL gesehen. Hätte ich gewusst, wie gut er tatsächlich ist, hätte ich das Sehen nicht so lange verschleppt. Die Story ist gar nicht das Besondere an “Children of Men”. Ein Endzeitdrama im Jahr 2027, die Menschheit hat seit 18 Jahren keine Kinder mehr bekommen, bis auf einmal eine Frau schwanger wird. Eine Gruppe von Oppositionellen will die Frau beschützen und in Sicherheit vor der Regierung bringen, doch dann kommt alles anders. Irgendwie erinnerten mich weite Passagen des Films etwas an “28 Days Later” – die Endzeitstimmung ist in beiden Filmen ähnlich. “Children of Men” überzeugt vor allem durch seine Optik, durch die Inszenierung, durch Liebe zum Detail und seinen absolut mitreißenden Erzählfluss. Ein großartiger Film. 8 von 10 Punkten.

– “Das Mädchen mit dem Perlenohrring”
Kleines nettes Historiendrama über die Entstehung des berühmten Vermeer-Gemäldes. Scarlett Johansson spielt eine Magd, die von dem Maler nach und nach in die Malkunst eingewiesen wird und ihm schließlich Porträt steht. Der Film erzählt zwar keine wirklich spannende Geschichte, doch irgendwie bewegt er dennoch. Mit Atmosphäre, toll gezeichneten Charakteren und guten Schauspielern. Kein Wahnsinnsfilm, aber durchaus einen Blick wert. 7 von 10 Punkten.

– “Das perfekte Verbrechen”
Anthony Hopkins erschießt seine fremdgegangene Frau und spielt im anschließenden Prozess ein kluges Spielchen mit dem schnöselhaften Staatsanwalt (Ryan Gosling). Justiz-/Krimi-Drama, das mich ziemlich enttäuscht hat. Optik, Machart und Darsteller können die ziemlich schwache Story leider nicht ausgleichen. Es gibt wirklich viele intelligentere Filme in diesem Genre. 5 von 10 Punkten.

Sie errechnet sich aus den Einzel-Listen der verschiedenen Redaktionen. In die Wertung kamen diesmal die Print-Magazine “intro”, “musikexpress”, “Rolling Stone”, “spex” und “Visions”, sowie das Online-Magazin “laut.de”. Hier ist also die traditionelle popkulturjunkie.de-Liste-der-Listen mit den besten Alben des Jahres. In die Wertung kamen dabei die Best-of-Listen der Redaktionen von “intro”, “musikexpress”, “Rolling Stone”, “spex”, “Visions” und “laut.de”. Für jeden ersten Platz in einer der sechs Listen gab es 50 Punkte, für jeden zweiten Platz 49 bis zum 50. Platz mit einem Punkt. Da der “Rolling Stone” wie immer nur eine Top 25 veröffentlicht hat, wurden dort keine 25, 24, 23, etc. Punkte vergeben. Nur vier Alben – gleichzeitig die Platten auf den Rängen 1 bis 4 der Liste der Listen – fanden sich in allen sechs Redaktions-Charts wieder, insgesamt kamen 177 verschiedene Platten in die Wertung.
