OZZY OSBOURNE has been seriously injured in a bike crash.

The singer has broken eight ribs and a vertebra in his neck after crashing the bike on his Buckinghamshire country estate yesterday (December 8).

He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where he underwent emegency surgery, and is now said to be in a stable state. It is thought that the operation was to lift his collarbone, which was not allowing blood to flow into his arm properly. His left collarbone has now been reconstructed.

Speaking outside the hospital, a spokesperson said: “Mr. Ozzy Osbourne was brought in yesterday following an accident at home. He had a fractured left collarbone, he had some damage to the blood vessel that lies underneath it, he had eight fractured ribs on the left side and in addition to that he has a small, entirely stable fracture of one of the vertebrae in his neck.

“This morning he will be seen by the doctors who are taking care of him. They will reassess him and make decisions as to what his treatment should be next.”

Ozzy is due to play a rescheduled UK tour in February 2004. It is curently unclear how the accident will effect the shows.
